Life Boat

When life runs aground we all need a survival strategy.

Life Boat is a 7 week program conducted individually to help you find and design a survival strategy.

Each session runs approximately 1 hour. The program has been designed as a one on one program but can be easily adapted to small groups. The program is designed for ages 15 - 20 years.


  1. Part 1 - Getting to Know Myself

    • Helps the client put words to their feelings and identify their strengths.
    • It examines how they interact with family and friends.
    • Looks at how past experiences affect behaviour.
  2. Part 2 - My Life at Present

    • Helps the client examine their current emotional state, living situation and support people.
  3. Part 3 - Making Good Decisions

    • Steps to making good decisions.
    • Understanding the short term and long term consequences off those decisions.
  4. Part 4 - To Parent or Place

    • A realistic look at long term parenting responsibilities.
    • Examines the option of adoption.
  5. Part 5 - Realities of Parenting

    • Examines client expectations of themselves and the father of their child.
    • Looks at how a child will change their lives.
  6. Part 6 - Information, Support and Referrals

    • A list of local support services the client may want to use.
  7. Part 7 - Learning to Budget Wisely

    • How to handle money.
    • Practical budgeting tips.
