Kawartha Lakes Pregnancy Centre

Sue Smith

Sue Smith began working at the Centre as the Administrative Assistant in October 2005. She came to the Centre with a strong background in both missions and pregnancy knowledge. Sue graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1972 and then went to Briercrest Bible Institute and graduated from there with a BRE in 1975. After graduating she went to Rhodesia (Zimbabwe) in 1976. The mission station she was at had to be evacuated in 1977 and Sue went to England. She used that time to train as a midwife at the British Hospital for Mothers and Babies. She returned to Chimanimani, Zimbabwe in 1980 to run a mission clinic until 1983 when she married Andrew. When she married she moved to Mhangura Copper Mine and worked in the mine hospital until she and Andrew started their family. She moved back to Canada with Andrew and their three children in 1989 just before the birth of their fourth and final child. Since that time she has been actively involved in her local church. Sue’s energy and dedication to this ministry has been a true blessing. The women who come to Centre have learned to trust and respect her. Susan Somers Beth Luchies Sue Smith
